About Me
New York City–based recording, mixing, mastering engineer and producer.
Driven by Creativity
Patrick Fruehling is a New York City–based recording, mixing, mastering engineer and producer originally from Morristown, New Jersey. Raised by a drummer father who introduced him to rock music at a young age, Pat began playing drums when he was five — a foundation that still shapes his musical instincts and approach in the studio today.
After starting his engineering career at Manhattan Beach, Pat went on to work at Engine Room Audio, where he developed into a senior engineer and became one of the main instructors at New York Audio Institute, the audio engineering school housed within Engine Room, the downtown NYC penthouse studio. There, he has taught masterclasses in drum tracking, band recording, vocal tracking, hybrid mixing, and practical studio workflow.
Influenced by his rock roots — from Blink-182 to The Who to Led Zeppelin — Pat brings a musician’s ear and an engineer’s precision to every project. His work spans outside of rock, into pop, indie, folk, punk, hip-hop, rap, rock, podcasts, audiobooks, voiceovers, and brand projects. Whether he’s recording a full live band, tracking a 20-person choir, mixing a vocal-driven pop record, mastering a final release, or helping an artist shape a song from the ground up, Pat loves being part of the creative process.
At the center of his work is a simple goal: to help artists make records that sound fully professional while still sounding completely like themselves.
